STAINLESS STEEL SOCKET SCREWS

Precision Technology Supplies Ltd, as one of the largest importers and distributors of stainless steel fasteners in Europe, have huge stocks of all standard types of socket screws in both Metric to DIN and ISO specifications and also American UNC / UNF threads to ASME specifications. All are available to buy now online.

The socket cap screw remains the most popular product in the range and PTS have the widest range of Metric and UNC / UNF threads in Europe. Socket head cap screws are used for applications with limited space. They have a cylindrical head and internal wrenching features (mostly hexagon socket although hexalobular drives are becoming more widely used) that allow them to be used in locations where externally wrenched fasteners either aren’t desirable or there are space limitations. They are used for a wide range of engineering applications and offer the same clamping force and standard hexagon headed bolts.

As well as the standard socket cap screw, PTS offer a vast range of similar socket products. Two of the most well known are countersunk screws (also known as socket flat heads) and button screws. Countersunk screws are always measured from the top of the head to the tip of the thread and are designed to sit flush in the application, as opposed to socket button screws, which offer a smooth dome headed finish. These are both now available with a hexalobular drive (also known as Torx or 6Lobe) and should not be used for high strength applications.

Headless socket set screws, known in the UK as grub screws, are offered with a variety of points, the most common being the socket set cup point. They are almost always driven with an internal wrenching drive, such as a hex socket (allen drive) or slot. The set screw passes through a threaded hole in the outer object and is tightened against the inner object to prevent it from moving relative to the outer object. It exerts a clamping force through the bottom tip that projects through the hole and is typically used to lock a component onto a shaft.

PTS also have the widest range and largest stocks of American Threaded socket screws which we have been supplying to both distributors and end users in over 80 countries since 1988.
