Drive Bits are shank-fit tips designed to sit in a standard bit holder, screwdriver or power tool, while Wrench Keys are dedicated handled tools shaped to a single drive profile, used directly without a separate holder.

Materials
Drive Bits and Wrench Keys are manufactured from hardened tool steel, giving the durability needed to withstand repeated torque loading without rounding out.

Standard Drive Bits
This group covers the everyday, non-security drive profiles: Pozi Drive Bits, Phillips Drive Bits, Hexalobular Drive Bits and Square Drive Bits, used with the corresponding standard screw heads found across the wider fastener range.

Security Drive Bits
Hexalobular + Pin Security Drive Bits, Hex Socket + Pin Security Drive Bits and 2Hole Security Drive Bits are cut to match the pin-in-recess and two-pin-hole profiles used across the Security Screws range, allowing the fastener to be driven or removed only with the correct matching bit.

Security Wrench Keys
Hex Socket + Pin Security Wrench Keys and Hexalobular + Pin Security Wrench Keys are handled tools cut to the same security profiles as the equivalent bits, used where a fixed handle is preferred over a bit-and-holder setup.

Within each family, the bit also needs to be the correct size for the specific screw, so it's worth checking the bit size against the fastener's drive dimensions before ordering.

When should I use a standalone Wrench Key instead of a bit and holder?
A Wrench Key gives a fixed handle in a single tool, which is useful where a screw needs to be driven repeatedly, where access is tight and a separate bit holder won't fit, or where a more direct feel of applied torque is wanted. A bit-and-holder setup is more flexible where multiple drive profiles are needed on one job, or where the fastener is being driven with a power tool.

Will a standard Pozi, Phillips, Hexalobular or Square bit work on a security screw?
No. Security screws use a pin-in-recess or two-pin-hole drive specifically to stop a standard bit from getting purchase — the central pin blocks a standard hexalobular or hex socket bit, and a 2Hole screw has no single recess for a standard bit to locate in at all. Only the matching Security Drive Bit or Wrench Key will engage them.
