It shares its thread, point, and general application range with the pan-head hexalobular screw, DIN 7504M - light steel section fixing, curtain walling, ductwork, and cladding - but finishes flush rather than proud, for use wherever a raised head would foul an overlapping sheet or a fitted component. In thinner material the head will generally pull flush as it's driven; thicker or harder sections may need a pre-countersunk hole to seat properly, worth checking on a sample piece before a full run.
